Alimenta Summit’26 serves as an interdisciplinary platform focused on the reconstruction of healthier, more sustainable, and culturally significant food systems.
The inaugural edition, themed Designing Healthier Food Systems, seeks to convene universities, researchers, professionals, communities, students, and institutional partners to foster dialogue across the fields of food, gastronomy, nutrition, health, hospitality and tourism, and food design.
Alimenta Summit’26 is scheduled for 29 and 30 October 2026 at the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre. The event is organized by the Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre, ESAD-IDEA, the Research Unit of ESAD Matosinhos, Universidade Europeia, and The FORK Organization.
The summit offers a platform for reflection, experimentation, and collaboration, facilitating the intersection of scientific knowledge with gastronomic experience, pedagogical innovation, territorial valorisation, and the transformation of food systems.
Beyond a traditional conference, Alimenta Summit’26 seeks to generate applied knowledge, disseminate research and practices, strengthen connections between academia and society, involve students in real-world challenges, and contribute to more conscious, inclusive, and sustainable food futures.
